Crag Challenges

Crag challenges are a fun way to add some goals and motivation to your day at the crag and maybe get on some routes you would not otherwise have tried.

1. Climb every route on a wall in one day

2. Send every route on a wall (no takes, no falls)

3. Climb every route on a certain page of your guidebook in one day

4. Climb every route of a certain grade or grades at the crag or area

We have been working on Crag Challenge 4 at Moose Mountain. We decided to climb every 5.10a and 5.10b at Moose Mountain. When we finished that, we started work on every 5.10c and 5.10d there.

Moose Mountain

Located at Canyon Creek accessible from Highway 66, west of Bragg Creek.

Heart Creek

Accessible from the Trans Canada Highway east of Canmore and west of Calgary.

Crag Packing List

A day at the crag can be relaxed and casual. Even when you’re giving it your strongest effort and working hard to send that project, you come down to a safe and easy stance, typically with a place to sit and eat lunch. Sometimes we stow a couple of cans of our favourite beverages in the creek to enjoy after a session
