
In March 2026, Dan and I climbed SARS on Ice, a large curtain of WI3 and WI4 lines. We got a lot of top-rope mileage on steep ice because we were able to lead an easier line and set up a top rope from a tree anchor.

On March 3, 2026, Dan and I climbed Nightmare on Elm Street, a single pitch WI3 along the Cline River. It is across the river from the main Cline River Gallery ice climbs and is accessed from a different trailhead.

Ghoster Coaster is a three pitch WI3 located near Canmore, Alberta. There are bolted anchors with rappel rings at the top of each pitch. It’s a long hike in but the ice seems to form reliably.

On February 8, 2026, Dan and I hiked up Owen Creek to look for ice climbing in a narrow canyon. We found some great ice climbing not far from the road. We accessed the climbs from above, lowering into the narrow canyon from tree anchors.

On February 7, 2026, Dan and I climbed Kerkeslin Falls, a three-pitch WI3 in Jasper National Park. It was a beautiful climb and we enjoyed exploring the area. There are bolted belay station with rappel rings for the descent. We would do this climb again.

On February 3, 2026, Dan and I climbed Lovely Parting Gifts, a WI3 in David Thompson Country. We climbed this 65 meter ice in one long pitch and descended with 2 rappels. We should have brought our 2 60-meter ropes instead of the single 70!

In February 2026, Dan and I climbed Bridal Veil Falls, a 2-pitch, WI3 ice climb on the Icefields Parkway in Banff National Park. The second pitch was steep and Interesting. To descend, we rappelled the route.

Albatross is a moderate ice climb located in the Valley of the Birds in the North Ghost area. The climb comprises three pitches and features tree anchors as well as bolted anchor points. The approach requires off-road driving, involving multiple river crossings.
