
This House of Sky is a classic ice climb in the Ghost Public Land Use Zone, featuring 10 pitches with a mix of soloing and belaying. The approach is short and the climb is suitable for multiple parties. The descent is well-marked and includes fixed lines.

In early March, 2025, we climbed Meltout, a three-pitch ice climb near Columbia Icefields. We enjoyed it so much, we went back two days later and climbed the first two pitches again.

On February 26, 2025, we climbed Isaac’s Wet Dream, a wide, single pitch in David Thompson Country. We hiked to the top and rappelled down to the bottom, setting up a top rope. The ice was very wet but we enjoyed the steepness of the climbing.

In January, 2025, we climbed Hidden Dragon, a WI4 on Orient Point in the Ghost. We climbed WI2 approach ice to access it and found a walkoff on our way down.

In January, 2025, we climbed ice on Orient Point in the Ghost. We were heading for The Joker but we didn’t make it that far. I’m not sure what we climbed but it was definitly “Not The Joker.”

On January 10, 2025 we climbed Step Right Up, a single pitch, WI3 ice climb near the town of Banff. The climb was in great shape and we had a good day trying different lines.

Last Tuesday, January 7, we climbed at King Creek. There are three main flows with climbs rated WI2 and WI3. We climbed the WI3 that is further up the creek and around the corner from the first two areas.

On March 12, 2024, we climbed B2, a single-pitch WI3 in Evan Thomas Valley, Kananaskis. It’s a popular area with a gradual uphill hike and lots of fun ice. B2 offers a few different lines of WI3 and the nearby climbs like Slurpee and Green Monster are inspiring. The long hike adds exertion but the…
